The phone which was earlier revealed and predicted to lunch on the 1st of Nov. by Evleaks, I must say, is the closest thing the tech giants have come to a beautiful mobile device since the inception of the Nexus series. It's sleek design similar to that of the LG G2 - as the Nexus is made by LG,sports a very conspicuous Nexus Logo at the rear end and is said to come in two colors - as usual, Black and White. Unlike the Nexus 4, the 5 has a kind-of "soft-touch matte backing" that makes it easy to grip, compared to the very easy to break one that came with the Nexus 4.
External Features
The flagship phone features a bigger 4.95-inch screen and it's best feature yet it's price as it starts sale at a whooping $349 - N55,840 ( Nigerians should add like 10k extra sha cause CV boys must chop) that's over $300 - (N50k) cheaper than the iPhone
The 5.43 x 2.72 x 0.34(height x width x thickness) inches phone sports a 4.95-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display and a whooping 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution and 445ppi compared to the Nexus 4's 1,280x768-pixel and 320ppi, meaning you get better graphic quality.
Internal Features
The handset comes with a 2,300mAh battery as well as 2GB worth of RAM. Like the LG G2, it is powered by a 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, when compared to the super fast and expensive Galaxy S4 and HTC One which run on a lower Snapdragon 600 processor.
It's only not so great feature is it's 8-megapixel rear camera, which is supported by a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Google claims to have made alot of improvements to the phones camera though with features aimed at reducing the effect of unwanted hand movement.Other camera features include HDR+, HDR and burst shots - the feature that takes a lot of images within seconds and picks the best for you.
As expected the phone runs on google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat (named after the famous snack) firmware.Google also bragged announced that the had Gallery app had a wireless printing framework making it easier to print your digital photos.
The Phone also comes with LTE support, Bluetooth 4.0, Wireless charging and NFC. It was also announced that the phone'll come in two versions, one just for the Asian/North American market and the other one for Europe and other regions. US users should note that Verizon'll not support the Nexus 5 - for now though, not even the unlocked version of the phone'll support Verizon.
The phone unlocked is said to start sale at $349 for the 16GB version compared to the Galaxy S4 (16GB) which goes for $649. The mobile phone is definitely going to be a hit in the mobile market .
