The President of HTC America, Jason Makenzie revealed following the launch of the Nexus 5 - the first phone to feature Android 4.4 Kitka, that the company had set the ball rolling to ensure timely release of the android update to the their flagship mobile, the HTC One.

Makenzie revealed that the Google play version of the device would receive the update first within 15days and the update for the other version of the flagship phone will be able to download the update within 30 days.

The president reinstated that although priority would be given to the flagship phone, updates for other devices including, HTC One mini, HTC One Max would be made available as soon as possible.

In his words:
"we're not going to [roll out updates] in a lazy fashion. We're going to make it a priority to have every dot release out on the One within 90 days."
